I have heard many times before people ask the question, “Why doesn't God do miracles anymore?” First we have to understand that a miracle is something that cannot be scientifically explained. And because that what a miracle is I can honestly say God performed a miracle in our lives. It all started about six months ago. Jacque and I had been trying to get pregnant for a while and just like Abraham and Sarah we were having no luck. We went to see her doctor, only to find out that she had fibroids, and it wouldn't be possible for her to get pregnant naturally. Following the doctors instructions we scheduled a hysterectomy. The week came and Jacque was supposed to get the procedure done on Thursday, but on Monday we got the first part of our miracle. We found out she was pregnant. Needless to say her doctor was shocked. He explained that this would be a very high-risk pregnancy and could be a problem. In Jacques eleventh week of pregnancy she started having terrible pains. We went to the emergency room and met with her doctor. Since “he had never seen a case like this” (his words), he sent us to the head of OB at the University of Chicago. After he examined her and her ultrasound the doctor said that we had two options. We could terminate the pregnancy or go through with it knowing that it could end badly. We of course decided to move forward. We later found out from Jacque’s doctor that this expert that there would be no way possible for her to carry the baby past 20 weeks. At the 25 week mark Jacque was having labor pains and started to bleed. We rushed her to the hospital and they stopped the bleeding. At that point her doctor though if we could somehow get her to 28 weeks it would be amazing. Jacque held strong (stronger than I could ever be) and for 80 days she sat in a hospital bed waiting. Then the day came for our daughter to be born. The c-section went a lot easier than the doctor expected, and we were blessed with our little girl. Naomi Elizabeth Miller was born at 6lbs 7 ounces. We are now home, and Naomi is sleeping lying next me while I type. I can’t help but look at her and thank God for truly performing a miracle. So when you hear someone ask, “Why doesn't perform miracles anymore?” You tell them about Naomi, the little girl that science and medical professionals said wasn't possible and couldn't survive, but was given as miracle to her parents who had fervently prayed for her. “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Genesis 18:14a Thank you to all of you that lifted us up in prayer during this time. We are so thankful to you all that prayed for us and helped us.

You're right Matt Stover

1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

This past Sunday there was an amazing moment at the Superbowl that you might have missed if you weren't paying attention. Matt Stover lined up for a 51 yd field goal, and missed it. Not overly shocking, but what happened next was. Stover pointed to the heavens to give God glory. Why, didn't he know pro athletes only thank God when they win the big game? Stover understands something deeper that regardless of how bad or good things are going God deserves honor and glory from us. We are all used to hearing the winner thank God, but isn't God also with the loser. God didn't reward Stover with a chance to redeem himself in the final minutes, and he didn't give Matt a victory. God never promised any of us an easy life, wealth, or earthly Glory. What he does promise us is redemption and heaven for those who trust in the name of Christ.

Psalm 112:2-3

Let the name of the LORD be praised,
both now and forevermore.

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

The Big Ten getting the shaft?

I admit that no matter the foul situation, Michigan State would have lost the way they played tonight. MSU turned the ball over way too much to be competitive. Sorry Clark Kellog, size had nothing to do with it. However in tournament play this year against the Big East, Big 12, and ACC the Big Ten overall had a 4:3 on the foul ratio. The only game in which a Big Ten team got a foul advantage over one of these conferences was Michigan vs Clemson. Seems a little fishy. There some games that were just ridiculous like Purdue vs UConn (26-12 fouls). It's time for referees to just call the game down the middle and stop bending over backwards for the Big East and ACC. That's the media's job.

What do Republicans think Values means exactly"

http://www.valuesvotersummit.org/speakers

There is going to be a summit for voters about values. This conference is heavily supported by the Christian right. If values only means pro life, then I guess they have it covered. I have been amazed that having "values" in America seems not have anything to do with how a person acts in the personal life. It simply means that you don't believe in abortion. The panel of speakers is full of people I find to morally reprehensible. The panel includes noted racists like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan, Glenn Beck, and Bill O'Reilly. Before someone jumps on me about any of these. Just go to youtube type in any of these guys names and then the word "racist". If you like what you hear, then respond. I have no idea why a Rush is speaking on values at all. He has been divorced three times, and he is a complete hypocrite. After railing on drug offenders and criminals for years on his program it turns out that he is both. And hilariously on got his case thrown out due to a precedent from a case won by the ACLU. I am really tired of the Republicans claiming the moral high ground and assigning all their beliefs to be Christian. If anyone can show me the biblical argument for gun ownership or tax cuts for the rich, I'm all ears.
I can see it coming, and history may be doomed to repeat itself. After Bush Sr started our economy on a downward turn, America turned to Clinton. He fixed our problems and we saw prosperity in America. Republican leadership had nothing except morals to run on in 2000. We elected Bush Jr. Instead of giving him 4 years to start our economy on a downward turn, we gave him eight years to destroy it. So we turn to Obama. After he fixes the economic system over the next eight years, and he will. The Republicans are once again going to try to run soley a moral campaign. Without a sex scandal it might be tough, but please don't fall for it again America.

Finally if can anyone tell me why anyone would want to hear Stehpen Baldwin talk about anything?

Ben's weekend top 10

Ben's top 10 TV Dramas of all time.

Honorable mentions: Tru Calling, Generation Kill, and Fastlane.

10. Boston Public

A great series that Fox screwed with too early.

9. The Sopranos
A show I would have ranked higher if they didn't ruin it in the 6th season. Oh and it was the worst series finale EVER!

8. Soul Food

I discovered this show on DVD, but it was better than the movie. It could have done without the Showtime required sex scenes, but still a great show.

7. The Shield
This show is so good that it made me root for a dirty cop.

6. Firefly
This show got canceled way too early. Fox ran the episodes out of order and only ran a few. But what can you expect from the Fox company? They work for the devil.

5. 24
This show is still good. You can watch it for an hour and it feels like it's only been 15 minutes

4. New York Undercover
Even though it went downhill after Eddie got killed off, this show was my favorite when I was coming up.

3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Yeah I said it, and I'm not ashamed either.

2. Angel
Joss Whedon is a genius. The spin-off was actually better to me than the original.

1. Band of Brothers

This is possibly the best thing ever filmed. I don't care who you are. You'll tear up a little in the last two episodes.
