What do Republicans think Values means exactly"

http://www.valuesvotersummit.org/speakers

There is going to be a summit for voters about values. This conference is heavily supported by the Christian right. If values only means pro life, then I guess they have it covered. I have been amazed that having "values" in America seems not have anything to do with how a person acts in the personal life. It simply means that you don't believe in abortion. The panel of speakers is full of people I find to morally reprehensible. The panel includes noted racists like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan, Glenn Beck, and Bill O'Reilly. Before someone jumps on me about any of these. Just go to youtube type in any of these guys names and then the word "racist". If you like what you hear, then respond. I have no idea why a Rush is speaking on values at all. He has been divorced three times, and he is a complete hypocrite. After railing on drug offenders and criminals for years on his program it turns out that he is both. And hilariously on got his case thrown out due to a precedent from a case won by the ACLU. I am really tired of the Republicans claiming the moral high ground and assigning all their beliefs to be Christian. If anyone can show me the biblical argument for gun ownership or tax cuts for the rich, I'm all ears.
I can see it coming, and history may be doomed to repeat itself. After Bush Sr started our economy on a downward turn, America turned to Clinton. He fixed our problems and we saw prosperity in America. Republican leadership had nothing except morals to run on in 2000. We elected Bush Jr. Instead of giving him 4 years to start our economy on a downward turn, we gave him eight years to destroy it. So we turn to Obama. After he fixes the economic system over the next eight years, and he will. The Republicans are once again going to try to run soley a moral campaign. Without a sex scandal it might be tough, but please don't fall for it again America.

Finally if can anyone tell me why anyone would want to hear Stehpen Baldwin talk about anything?

Ben's weekend top 10

Ben's top 10 TV Dramas of all time.

Honorable mentions: Tru Calling, Generation Kill, and Fastlane.

10. Boston Public

A great series that Fox screwed with too early.

9. The Sopranos
A show I would have ranked higher if they didn't ruin it in the 6th season. Oh and it was the worst series finale EVER!

8. Soul Food

I discovered this show on DVD, but it was better than the movie. It could have done without the Showtime required sex scenes, but still a great show.

7. The Shield
This show is so good that it made me root for a dirty cop.

6. Firefly
This show got canceled way too early. Fox ran the episodes out of order and only ran a few. But what can you expect from the Fox company? They work for the devil.

5. 24
This show is still good. You can watch it for an hour and it feels like it's only been 15 minutes

4. New York Undercover
Even though it went downhill after Eddie got killed off, this show was my favorite when I was coming up.

3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Yeah I said it, and I'm not ashamed either.

2. Angel
Joss Whedon is a genius. The spin-off was actually better to me than the original.

1. Band of Brothers

This is possibly the best thing ever filmed. I don't care who you are. You'll tear up a little in the last two episodes.

FRC has it wrong....again

For those who don't know the FRC is the Family Research Council. They are the political side of Focus on the Family, though they claim to be completely separate. I have apparently gotten on their email list for updates, since I sent the "nonpartisan" organization an email asking them about their attacks on Barack Obama.

I recently received an email from them about trying to stop the adding of homosexuals to the hate crime legislation. The FRC claimed this is part of the "homosexual agenda". The email stated, "Adding "sexual orientation" to thought crimes legislation gives one set of crime victims a higher level of protection than it gives to people like you and me."

First of all they are assuming that their supporters are not racial minorities, which I guess is probably a descent assumption. (at least they know who they are)
Doesn't by definition the law already do this very to non-minorities. No matter what you believe about homosexuality, they are still people that we are commanded to love. I don't understand why a person would think that it is wrong to say that committing a criminal act against a homosexual should be punished just as harshly as one against a person of another race or faith. I can understand if they have a problem with punishing the thoughts of a person as they commit the crime. While I don't agree with that argument on hate crime legislation, I understand it and agree that it has some merit.
