You're right Matt Stover

1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

This past Sunday there was an amazing moment at the Superbowl that you might have missed if you weren't paying attention. Matt Stover lined up for a 51 yd field goal, and missed it. Not overly shocking, but what happened next was. Stover pointed to the heavens to give God glory. Why, didn't he know pro athletes only thank God when they win the big game? Stover understands something deeper that regardless of how bad or good things are going God deserves honor and glory from us. We are all used to hearing the winner thank God, but isn't God also with the loser. God didn't reward Stover with a chance to redeem himself in the final minutes, and he didn't give Matt a victory. God never promised any of us an easy life, wealth, or earthly Glory. What he does promise us is redemption and heaven for those who trust in the name of Christ.

Psalm 112:2-3

Let the name of the LORD be praised,
both now and forevermore.

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.
